Beauty + Wellness Scholarship for Women

This scholarship is called The Beauty + Wellness Scholarship for Women and each quarter we award $1,000 + a care package filled with healthy organic goodies to young women who are striving to maintain their health and wellness as they pursue their higher education goals.  

Here is a brief summary of the eligibility requirements:

 Beth Boudreaux Memorial Scholarship

Graduating seniors may email their essay on "Three Important Virtues/Values" to Ms. Habisreitinger or Dr. Perry who will then forward their essay, ACT scores, and transcript on to Ms. Lisa Boudreaux (lisabx@neill.com). This one-time scholarship amount only available to LHS graduates will depend on the number of applicants who are awarded. The deadline is TBA.

 

 Capital RC&D Council Scholarship 

Guidelines and criteria for the Capital RC&D Scholarship are as follows:

1.         Visit the website to find the application deadline.

2.         The scholarship committee will select the best two (2) applicants.

3.         This is a one-time $250 dollar scholarship.

4.         Scholarship is open to all current high school seniors.

5.         The scholarship is for any college in Louisiana.

6.         The scholarship is for Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources, Agricultural and Ag Business, and Business fields of study.

 

7.         A letter of recommendation from the School Counselor, FFA Teacher or 4-H agent must accompany each application form.

8.         Selection will be made by scholarship committee consisting of Capital RC&D members.

9.         Must be a high school senior when applying.

10.       Can only receive one of the Capital RC&D scholarships.

 Caretenders Scholarship

 

To be considered eligible for the Caretenders Scholarship Program you must:

A) Be attending an accredited university, college, trades, or technical school in the fall of 2017.

B) You must be a resident of the United States or Canada who will be attending school in the fall of 2017 and you must be attending a school in the US or Canada.

C) Submit the Online Application, including the essay question by the deadline posted on the website.

 

 

 CHS Foundation Scholarship 


Graduating high school seniors pursuing a degree in an agricultural-related field at any college or university throughout the United States and Canada are invited to apply for one of 200 $1,000 scholarships.

1. Must be a high school senior, graduating in the spring and attending college in fall 2018

2. Must plan to pursue an agricultural degree at a college or university within the United States or Canada

3. Students pursuing a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) field of study with an interest in agriculture will be considered.

4. Must be a legal citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada

 The Good South Scholarship

The Good South, Southern lifestyle clothing company, is proud to announce the launch of its second annual scholarship application.  As college admissions counselors, they know how expensive college can be and understand the majority of families cannot outright afford college expenses.  The Good South donates a portion of their yearly proceeds to the The Good South Scholarship Fund and are excited to award four scholarships this year ranging from $250 to $500.  They are looking for well-rounded applicants who excel both inside and outside the classroom.  While scholastic achievement is very important, it is equally important for students to be leaders and have a passion for service.

Junior Auxiliary of Amite

One scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior entering a Louisiana university of college in the fall. The scholarship will be awarded solely on essay entries. Eligibility requirements: a) U.S. citizen b) Must be a current high school senior at Amite, Independence, Kentwood, Loranger or Sumner high school c) Must have a 3.2 or better GPA d) Must have an ACT score of 20 or better.  Lifestyle Dentistry Scholarship

 

To be considered eligible for the Lifestyle Dentistry Scholarship you must:

A) Be attending college or university no later than September 2018. Current High School Seniors who will graduate in 2018 are eligible. You can be enrolled in any field of study.

B) Submit answers to the essay question, which can be found on the application page, prior to the deadline on website.

C) Have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.

D) Be a resident of Canada or the United States

The scholarship winner will be announced roughly six weeks after the deadline and will be posted on this website immediately after. All applications must be received by deadline posted on the website. No late applications will be reviewed.

 

 

 Lift Parts Express Scholarship

 

1. To be eligible for the LPE Scholarship you must be either:

A) A Current Senior in High School or

B) A Freshman or Sophomore in College/University

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships to children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen who served with Marines attending

NSU Louisiana High Essay Contest 

 

Length: Approximately 1,000 – 2,500 words. All entries should have titles and should be typed (double spaced, 12 point font, standard margins). 

 

The essay contest is open to all Louisiana students in grades 9-12 regardless of type of school institution, including students in all types of private educational environments, as well as home schooled students.

 

All entries should be sent as e-mail attachments to Dr. Shane Rasmussen, rasmussens@nsula.edu or by mail to the Louisiana Folklife Center, NSU Box 3663, Natchitoches, LA 71497. Please include a separate cover page with your name, school affiliation, mailing address, phone number, e-mail address, and the title of your entry.

 

The prizes for the contest winners are: 1st place – $150; 2nd place – $100; and 3rd place – $50. In addition, essay contest winners will receive a $200/per semester NSU scholarship with a value up to $1600 for four years. This award is in addition to other scholarship awards that the student may receive from Northwestern State University. To be eligible, essay winners must submit a complete scholarship application packet to the university by December 1 of their Senior Year. Winners must also have at least a 20 ACT composite or 950 on the SAT, as well as at least a 2.0 GPA to be eligible. Essay winners also need to submit proof of the award.

 

 Odenza Marketing Group Scholarship

To be considered eligible for the Odenza Marketing Group Fall Scholarship you must:

A) Be between the ages of 16 and 25 by date specified on their website.

B) Submit answers to the essay questions, which can be found on the application page, prior to the 2018 deadline.

C) Have at least one full year of post secondary studies remaining at the time of the award

D) Have a GPA of 2.5 or greater.

E) Be a citizen of the United States or Canada

Peter Pasula Study Habits Scholarship

To be eligible for the Study Habits Scholarship you must:

1) Be attending an accredited post-secondary institution. 

2) A student can be enrolled at any level in any program that is two years in length or longer. 

3) Students must be Canadian or US residents.

4) Students must answer the essay question on the website online application form.

 

 

The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival Scholarship

The Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival offers a $6,000 agricultural scholarship each year to a student in an area school that meets certain criteria. The scholarship is paid for over a four year period, allotting $750 each semester. The selection committee will select the recipient based upon the following minimum criteria:

§  Agricultural Student with 2 years of Ag class (Ag II)                                        

§ Attend a Louisiana university                              

§ Major in Agricultural-related field                                                                      

§ Minimum ACT score of 20
